Tampere is easily accessible by air, bus or train from Helsinki since the city of Tampere is located only 180 kilometres northwest from Helsinki, the capital of Finland.
There is a free car park for 400 cars outside the Rosendahl hotel and a warm parking hall for 40 cars in the ground floor. Hall parking costs 1 €/hour and 7 €/day. The hall doors are closed between 10pm and 7am.
Scandic Rosendahl can be also easily accessed from the city center by a taxi or a bus, that travels there twice an hour.
Tampere has direct flight connections with Stockholm, Copenhagen, Riga, Frankfurt, London, Milan, Dublin and Bremen.
The frequent daily flights from Helsinki-Vantaa Airport (HEL) to Tampere-Pirkkala Airport (TMP) take only 30 minutes. Please note that for example the budget airline Ryanair flies to Tampere-Pirkkala Airport from several European cities.
Tampere-Pirkkala Airport is about 15 km from the city centre. The Airport Taxi can be ordered at the airport as well as at the hotel reception. There are usually also regular taxis waiting for passengers at the airport. If you want to order taxi beforehand, call +3581004131 (when abroad).
Public Transport Bus number 61 operates between the airport and Tampere.
If you arrive at Helsinki-Vantaa Airport, but plan to take the train to Tampere, you need to go to the bus stop first. Take a bus to Helsinki city centre or Tikkurila railway station and board a train there. Trains depart hourly (except for night time). The travel time by train is about 2 hours. We recommend you to buy a ticket either to a Pendolino or InterCity train. Further information please visit www.vr.fi. You have the option to select seat preference: for example a PC seat in an open or working compartment.
If you do not stay in Helsinki, perhaps easier and faster way than to take the train is to hop in the express bus. It will leave to Tampere straight from Helsinki-Vantaa Airport. Buses depart every 1-2 hours and the travel time is approximately 2 hours 30 minutes. You might need to change the bus at Keimolanportti. Driver will lift your luggage to the other bus, and you just need to remember to walk to that bus nextby. You can ask additional information from the driver.
