COSS, the Finnish Centre for Open Source Solutions, is organising the 8th Openmind conference in association with the MindTrek conference. Openmind 2011 will be held on MindTrek's Partner Sessions day on Wednesday September 28th in Scandic Hotel Rosendahl, Tampere, Finland.
Openmind, a forward-looking international conference focusing on openness in business, technology and innovation, is held annually in Finland, the birthplace of Linux. Openmind is an open forum for 200 open source professionals, community members and academics.

Tampere is the largest inland city of the Nordic countries and the capital of Finland's Western Lake District. Tampere is located in the midst of a lake labyrinth - 200 lakes situated within the city limits. There are approximately 200 000 citizens in Tampere and more than 469 000 inhabitants in total, including the area called Tampere Region.
Tampere is a lively university town. For international congress delegates it offers an innovative academic environment and numerous interesting research centres and laboratories to visit. The city centre is nicely compact: all major hotels, restaurants and shops are within a convenient walking distance of each other.
Tampere is easily accessible. Over 20 international airlines offer regular flights to Helsinki, the capital of Finland. Tampere International Airport is served by direct flights from a number of European cities.
